Man killed in workplace accident

A man has been killed in a motor vehicle accident at a mine site near Newman.

The 19-year-old man, from Northam, is the third person to be killed in the last two months while working at the BHP Billiton mine site at Yandi, 150 kilometres from Newman.

His family has been notified but his name has not been released.

A coronial investigation is underway, and the companies involved with the mine are expected to release a statement later this morning.
