I couldn't ask for more: Bennett

Posted September 4, 2008 13:02:00

Veteran Broncos coach Wayne Bennett has paid tribute to his players ahead of his official farewell in Brisbane tomorrow night.

Bennett, the Broncos' foundation coach, will join the Dragons next season after 21 seasons in Brisbane.

He says the players have not let his resignation distract them.

"They've all been tremendous and just done their job and they've put us in the position we're in now," he said.

"We've had a tough season with players injured and our key players and all that and it's a great credit to them that they've remained focussed enough to get it right.

"Other clubs have fallen over and aren't in the play-offs - we're the only Queensland-based club in any of the codes now that are in the play-offs."
