The Premier Alan Carpenter has defended the conduct of the Heritage Minister Michelle Roberts after a property she partly owned dropped off the state's interim heritage register.

Five terrace houses in Beaufort Street in Perth were listed on the register in July last year, one which was partly owned by Mrs Roberts.

they dropped off the register because the minister didn't permanently list them within 12 months.

Mrs Roberts said she couldn't add the properties to the list, because she had a conflict of interest.

The Premier says while Mrs Roberts has done nothing wrong, the process will be reviewed.

"I will make sure that if such an occurance occurs in the future and if there are improvements we can put in place for the process then those improvements will be put into place," he said.
