United striker Saha to join Everton

Posted August 29, 2008 21:12:00

Everton has agreed to sign Manchester United striker Louis Saha for an undisclosed fee.

Saha, 30, has negotiated a two-year contract, with the option for a further one-year extension and will complete the move to Goodison Park if he passes a medical.

Saha scored 42 goals in 124 appearances for United, but the France international suffered a series of injuries over the last two years that made him a fringe figure.

Saha will become David Moyes's third signing this week after the captures of Lars Jacobsen and Segundo Castillo.

United's decision to let Saha leave could finally signal the arrival of Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov at Old Trafford.
