Kenny stems Broncos exodus

Posted August 28, 2008 18:00:00

Brisbane forward Nick Kenny has signed a one-year deal with the Broncos, retaining some much-needed experience for a side which loses a string of influential players at the end of the season.

Lock Greg Eastwood will join English Super League club Leeds while prop Ben Hannant, hooker Michael Ennis and backs Darius Boyd and Denan Kemp have already announced they will move to other NRL clubs.

Kenny says he is confident the club will remain successful next year despite the departures and believes the club's younger players and new signings will ensure the team remains strong in 2009.

"There'll be some new faces but that's always an exciting time as well because it means that those younger guys or fringe players are getting a new opportunity," he said.

"There'll be a few new people on the coaching staff which will be a change for us as well... I'll be looking forward to it."
