Anglers accused of stealing croc warning signs

The Environmental Protection Agency believes irresponsible anglers have stolen croc warning signs from the boat ramp at Edmonton, south of Cairns.
Since February, two signs warning the public about sightings of a large crocodile have been stolen or vandalised after being placed at the site.
Senior project officer Paul O'Callaghan says lazy fishermen attracted the croc in the first place by dumping fish frames and scraps next to the boat ramp.
"If people do things like dump a food source like fish frames close to a boat ramp then certainly the crocodile could potentially see the fish as a food source and if it starts to hang around here then we've increased the potential for human-crocodile interaction," he said.
