Mechanic crushed by bus

Posted August 26, 2008 15:05:00

Police and WorkSafe are investigating the death of a 47 year old mechanic from Bacchus Marsh, who was crushed by a bus in Melbourne's west this morning.

Two mechanics had been called out after a bus broke down on in Altona North.

Police spokesman Mark Glenister said one of the mechanics was under the bus doing repairs when it rolled forward.

"And the mechanic unfortunately has been trapped under the bus and he's died as a result," he said.

The other mechanic was not injured.

There were no passengers on the bus when it broke down.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
