Boulton reign ending at Pt Adelaide

Posted August 22, 2008 17:22:00

Greg Boulton will step down as Port Adelaide football club president in December.

He has announced his decision at the club at Alberton in Adelaide, ending 26 years as a football administrator.

Boulton says helping Port Adelaide into the AFL and the club's 2004 premiership have been his major highlights.

"Getting in the AFL was outstanding because we wouldn't have been able to play in a grand final unless we did it, but Mark [Williams] and the players

leading us to that grand final - winning - best footy game I've ever, ever been at," he said.

Current board member Brett Duncanson will become the new Port president after the club's annual general meeting in mid-December.
