Motlop ready for transition from SANFL to AFL

Posted August 22, 2008 09:21:00

Port Adelaide's Marlon Motlop, who will make his debut for the club this weekend, says he is confident his body will stand up to the rigours of the AFL.

The 18-year-old will run out for the first time at AFL level against Melbourne at Football Park after solid form in the SANFL.

Motlop says his time in the local league has helped him prepare for his first AFL game.

"I've made some big improvements from the start of the year so I'm a lot fitter now and my body's a lot stronger. I'm looking forward to getting out there this week," he said.
