Gold Coast Titans half-back Scott Prince has had surgery on the broken arm he sustained during the State of Origin decider and has been ruled out of a return for the remainder of the season.

Prince had a plate inserted into his arm on Thursday afternoon in Brisbane and unless the Titans are successful in the final rounds, will not return for 2008.

The Titans play league leaders Manly tonight, and Prince says his absence gives other players a chance to impress.

"With me going down and [Luke Bailey] and [Aaron Cannings] it gives a guy an opportunity," he said.

"We were missing [Bailey] at the start of the year and we won four or five straight so there's no reason why they can't do it now without me.

"Hopefully the guys that go in there can do a job for us."

Maroons coach Mal Meninga says Prince will have to play the waiting game with his injury.

"My only advice is to be patient... I just said if he needs to have a yarn about it give me a tingle," he said.
