The leaning church tower of Walfridus in the northern Dutch town of Bedum, August 2008. Retired geometrician Jacob van Dijk says measurements this week on the 36-metre tower reveal it is now leaning more than the leaning tower of Pisa, which lost part of its tilt following restoration works.
