Separate arrangements apply to Senior Executives, Actors and Retail staff. The Employment Agreement (EA) provides terms and conditions of employment that are responsive to the ABC's needs, the needs and aspirations of it employees, and the industries and markets in which the ABC operates. Below is a brief summary of some of the general conditions of employment and entitlements to be gained in working for the ABC.

All new employees appointed to the ABC on an ongoing basis, with the exception of Executive employees, will be placed on probation in order to ascertain whether the employee has the skills and capacity to carry out the job satisfactorily. Your supervisor will outline the job you are expected to perform and the work standards you will be expected to meet. The duration of the probation period will be dependant on the type of role undertaken.

Performance Management

The ABC has a Performance Management System for all ongoing staff. Fixed term or specified task employees with contracts longer than 18 months also participate in a performance management process.

The performance cycle is a 12-month period during which the employee's job is agreed and planned, regular feedback is given, training needs are identified and the employee's performance is formally appraised. Your salary will be advanced according to your appraisal outcome, so that high performers will be rewardeded.
