Stephen Hagan
Stephen Hagan, BA, MBA, PhD Candidate (Monash University) is a Kullilli traditional owner from southwest Queensland.
Stephen is a man of many talents. He is a lecturer at the University of Southern Queensland, former diplomat (Colombo, Sri Lanka), 2006 NAIDOC Person of the Year, award winning author (2005 Deadly award for outstanding achievement in literature for 'The N Word: One Man’s Stand', publisher and author of 'Australia’s Blackest Sporting Moments: The Top 100' & 'Melly and The Bilby', multi-award winning film maker - 2007 EnhanceTV, ATOM Award, 2007 Inside Film IF Award and 2008 Best International Indigenous Short Documentary, NZ, for documentary 'Nigger Lovers'.
Stephen is also a regular commentator for the Koori Mail, On Line Opinion and ABC Online and internationally acclaimed commentator of race relations (addressed recent international conferences in Bangkok, Thailand ’06, Standford University, California ’07, Santiago, Chile ’07 and Waiori, New Zealand).
