Meet ACT's Local Hero of the Year 2009 - Tim Gavel

ABC Sports Commentator Tim Gavel was last week announced as the ACT's Local Hero of the Year in the Australian of the Year Awards 2009. Nicknamed 'Tireless Tim' because of his ability to work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Tim is highly regarded in his role as a sports journalist for Canberra's ABC Radio Grandstand program.
