Reviews by ABC Complaints Review Executive
The ABC has established the position of Complaints Review Executive (CRE) to provide an opportunity for internal review where complainants are dissatisfied with a response received from Audience and Consumer Affairs. The CRE is a senior ABC manager with wide editorial experience. The CRE is separate to the ABC’s programming areas and separate to Audience and Consumer Affairs. The CRE can look at complaints afresh. Complaints can be referred to the CRE by Audience and Consumer Affairs or by complainants themselves. In extraordinary circumstances, the Managing Director or Chairman can also refer complaints directly to the CRE for assessment in the first instance. It is important to note that seeking CRE review does not prejudice a complainant’s right to seek external review of their complaint.
