Sun on the Stubble is adapted from a series of novels by award-winning Australian children's writer Colin Theile, author of 'Storm Boy' and 'Blue Fin'.

The series tells the story of Bruno Gunther, a 14-year-old boy from a German immigrant family growing up in a small farming community in South Australia during the 1930s. For Bruno, life on the farm creates rich opportunities fro all kinds of adventures, dilemmas and comic mishaps.
